SEDA Conference 2024. Resilience & Adaptation

Challenging our existing systems, attitudes, cultures, and practices, what action can we take that is impactful, and can make a difference for the benefit of all species on this planet? What Adaptations breaking through the “business as usual model” would create step changes that increase our Collective Resilience?

We will tackle adaptation and resilience from two perspectives: Nature-based solutions and Community-based solutions.

On the evening of Thursday 26th, we will provide an opportunity to see the full film from the Big Conversation. You can book the tickets separately from the Conference. The screening is free, but we will have a donation box to help with expenses.

Over the two days of the Conference we will engage in discussions, reflections and walks.

We hope you can join us for the afternoon walk on Day 1 - From Past to Present with Aberdeen City Heritage Trust and Gardens and Baths with Aberdeen City Council and the Bon Accord Heritage.

Dinner and ceilidh can be booked separately - we would love you to join us!

Lunch and teas/coffees will be included in the ticket price.

On Day 2, the KJ Award finalists from 4 Scottish Schools of Architecture will present their design work and the winner will be announced.

In the afternoon we will be walking or using public transport to get to Greyhope Bay - if you have any access, travel or mobility requirements, please let us know in advance.

We will release more travelling information in due course.

This will be a fully hybrid event. The online programme will cover the talks and panel discussion that run from 10.30 to 15:00 (Day 1) and 15:20 (Day 2). Some elements of the walks on both days will be recorded and made available to watch after the event but will not be live streamed. Members of the online audience will be able to participate fully in the Q&A sessions etc.
