Secrets of Arkham - A Lovecraftian Megagame

Minor Disaster Games brings the latest version of their Cthulhu Mythos inspired megagame to Newport Pagnell.

Jump into the role of an important figure of Arkham, from the Mayor trying to keep the cities infrastructure from crumbling, to a humble Private Eye just looking for their next case, and dive into the mystery and madness of the city.

Every game has it's own overarching story to deal with whilst the players work to keep their team together, forming alliances and making enemies with the other players about the room. Team up, compete, and uncover hidden secrets as you face eldritch horrors and unravel cosmic mysteries. Whether you're a fan of the mythos or new to the scene, this game hopes to deliver an unforgettable, immersive experience.

Players work in teams to keep the horrors of Arkham city from spilling over onto the general populace whilst persuing their own agendas and objectives.

Teams are made up of 2 to 4 players and include Arkham highlights such as St Mary's Hospital, Christ Church, and the Akham Advertiser, each with their own unique abilities and place within the game world. If you've never played a megagame before think of it as part RPG, part board game, part LARP. A massively multiplayer one-shot experience that combines the strategy of war gaming with the creativity of more rules abstracted roleplaying games.

A rulebook will be sent out in advance but most of the details of the gameplay will be explained on the day, so minimal prep and understanding will be required in advance. Costuming and props are optional, though can add to the immersion.

The game lasts the better part of a day with team briefings, player roles, and other information being sent out in advance, and the opportunity to chat on a dedicated Discord server before the game. Teams will be assigned by the game makers based on a survey of interests sent out to the players in advance, and we will attempt to group players who are looking to play together, but if you already have teammates in mind we advise you purchase tickets together.

Join us and up to 40 other players to discover a unique gaming experience. Arrival from 10am, rules explanation at 10.30 and the game beginning by 11. Tickets include access to the the Players Paradice venue in Newport Pagnell for the day, and food and drinks can be purchased from the venue. Street parking is available in the nearby streets of Newport Pagnell and a bus can be caught over from Milton Keynes train station if driving is not an option.

This is a horror themed game so we have had to impose an 18+ age limit. We will employ some safety tools for anyone who needs to step away from the game for thematic or exhaustion reasons, but at a certain point we have to trust everyone to have an idea of what they're getting into with the Cthulhu mythos theme.
