Brr… winter is here!We’ll see what February weather brings as we plan our next day in the park, if things look good this event will be a go! There are still a few areas along the east side that need attention, including limbing trees and removing W**d barrier. Winter is a great time to tackle this work.
We’ll also begin preparing for upcoming vegetation-planting efforts, focusing on harvesting willow stakes from various parts of the park. Multiple planting plots will be set up to test different willow-planting methods. Each plot will be monitored and evaluated to determine which techniques are most effective at reducing Reed-canary grass through shading. Planting methods will also incorporate strategies to keep beavers at bay and happy all at the same time.
