Second Saturday Jazz - July Birthdays Show!
About this Event
Get ready to swing into your Saturday with an unforgettable afternoon of big band jazz, outrageous energy, and iconic tunes—presented by Angela O’Neill & the Outrageous8, now celebrating 10 years of swingin’!
This month’s Second Saturday Jazz is more than a concert—it's a birthday celebration honoring some of our remarkable musicians and artists who help keep the spirit of jazz alive. Join us as we celebrate the July birthdays of vocalist Keri Kelsey, pianist, composer, and arranger Rocky Davis, trombonist, arranger, and composer Harry Smallenburg, acclaimed record producer Greg Curtis, and drummer Tony Pia. Taking the stage for this special afternoon are Angela O’Neill, Keri Kelsey, Al Timss, Janet Blake, Karen Celeste Cruz, Jeffrey Gimble, and Mary Bogue, performing an unforgettable collection of jazz standards, beloved classics, and musical tributes.
The Outrageous8 features an all-star lineup of LA’s top musicians, including custom arrangements by Harry Smallenburg and Rocky Davis, and music direction by Sam Morgan, son of touring legend David Morgan (Three Dog Night). From Grammy-winning sidemen to jazz veterans who’ve played with The Rolling Stones, Cher, and the Honeydrippers—this group brings heat, history, and serious chops to the stage.
Angela O’Neill, a UCLA Theater Arts alum and former classical oboist, has produced hundreds of shows with The Outrageous8. A versatile performer, she’s sung jazz, country, and rock, and currently sings with multiple 18-piece big bands. Angela is also the driving force behind Outrageous8 Records, which she launched five years ago, producing six albums for the band and additional projects for bandmates Paul Litteral and Ron Cyger.
Please note that there is a $35 food and beverage minimum at the venue on the day of the event.
