About this Event

Second Hand Dance presents The Sticky Dance

Co-created by Rosie Heafford and Takeshi Matsumoto.

Two dancers' shimmy through the audience weaving a tapestry of sticky tape in this tactile dance performance for young children. They invite you to tape, stick and groove, to see and feel sound or to be still, watch and listen. Audiences are encouraged to explore freely, turn the rules upside down and create their own experience.

“The best children’s performance I’ve ever seen- incredibly engaging and fun”
Audience member, Balham Library June 2025

The Sticky Dance is an interactive, engaging and colourful performance installation for children and their families. We offer a welcoming, inclusive space where children and families are welcome to explore through moving, watching, listening, dancing and making noise.

Co-commissioned by The Southbank Centre and The Place, and South East Dance. Library version co-commissioned by Wandsworth Arts Festival and Arts Partnership Surrey.
