About this Event
Filming in Macro | Return of the Snails with National Film and Television School, 11:00-13:00, Spelthorne Jobs and Skills Hub
Macro-cinematography invites us into a whole new miniature world - one that exists right under our noses. In this workshop, students will explore the macro world and learn how to build sequences in natural history film.
Attendees will work in groups to create a short, one-minute film centred around a large (macro) character, a snail, in its small environment. They will plan their story by creating a simple storyboard of 4–5 shots, then build their sets and shoot their film. Once filming is complete, attendees will add voice-over or sound effects. Their films will be edited into a timeline and screened for the group to enjoy together. Copies of the film will be available to take away.
Suitable for ages 11-18 year olds.
This workshop is part of the Surrey Youth Arts and Culture Festival programme. To view the full programme, take a look at the website.
