This December 31st 2025, PDS Dockers are going to celebrate New Years Eve in style with our dogs in a Catch tournament, along with one round of Distance and one round of Hydro-Retrieve. And what is really exciting is that we will be offering prize money for all three disciplines, the amount of which will ultimately be dependent upon the number of competitors we have. If you have never seen the game of catch before, it is the most difficult and exciting discipline out there.
This event is for all dog lovers to come down and join us. Even if you don’t compete, we would love to have you come by and enjoy New Years Eve with your dogs as we watch “THE BALLS” drop!
Competitors will be limited to the following:
Catch Tournament - Max 25 competitors, 3 rounds of jumps at a buy in of $150.00.
Hydro Retrieve - Max 20 competitors, 1 round at a buy in of $35.00.
Distance - Max 20 competitors, 1 round at a buy in of $35.00.
The games will be run as follows:
You don’t have to participate in all disciplines. You can pick and choose. For example, unless there is availability, Team Medb will only be participating in the Catch Tournament, leaving room for non-Catch players who want to come and play, to participate in Distance and Hydro Retrieve.
Catch Tournament – There will be three rounds of two jumps (6 total attempts). Points will accumulate for each of the 6 jumps. For a catch to be successful (counted), the catch must be at least fifty percent (50%) of the jump distance for the jump to be scored. For example, if the competitor has a distance jump of 20 feet, the catch must be out at least 10 feet. If 9 feet or below, the attempt will be scored zero.
There will be three divisions as outlined below:
Division 1 > 150 points
Division 2 > 75 points <=150 points
Division 3 <=75 points
Hydro Retrieve – There will be one round of two runs. The fastest time of the two runs is kept as your final score. There will be three divisions as outlined below:
Division 1 < 8 Seconds
Division 2 >=8 Seconds to <=9 Seconds
Division 3 > 9 Seconds
Distance – There will be one round of two jumps. Competitor will be scored on the AVERAGE of the 2 jumps!
Assuming that we max out on the competitors in each discipline, prize money will be as follows:
Catch Tournament:
Division 1 >
First Place - $500
Second Place - $250
Third Place - $100
Division 2 >
First Place - $500
Second Place - $250
Third Place - $100
Division 3 >
First Place - $100
Big Catch Bonus – Highest One Catch score of the night - $100
Hard Luck Award – Judges decision - $100
Hydro Retrieve:
Division 1 - First Place - $ 100.00
Division 2 - First Place - $ 100.00
Division 3 - First Place - $ 100.00
Distance:
$100.00 to the winner of each division (Independent, A, AA, AAA, Major League)
Prize money will be adjusted down ratably depending upon if the number of competitors falls below maximum.

Payment will need to be made in cash (US Funds) with payment due to me, one week from the date I send you a confirmation that your registration has been received and there is a spot for you (FCFS). If there is no availability, you will go on a waiting list (if you wish).
This a bring your own beverage event if you would like something other than water. It would be great if you could also bring a snack plate to put out and share.
