About this Event
We’re thrilled to invite you to an exciting moment in Seattle’s LGBTQIA2S+ history. Join Seattle Pride and Alliance for Pioneer Square as we unveil a new historical marker at the site of the city’s very first Pride celebration, held back in 1974. This special marker -designed by the creative team at People People - is part of Pioneer Square’s Trail to Treasure walking tour, and it celebrates the milestones and memories that have shaped our community.
What’s happening?
- Learn about the origins of Seattle’s Pride movement and queer history in Pioneer Square
- Witness the official unveiling of the marker
- Hear from community leaders
- And, if you’re up for it, take part in a short walking tour of queer history led by Beneath the Streets.
We’ll also have light refreshments on hand to keep things cozy.
