Seasons on the Land: Evening November Walk at Crown Point
About this Event
Held once per month from August through November, these evening walks offer a gentle, immersive way to connect with the nature that calls Crown Point home in low light during dusk. You will be guided through the prairie and forest and discuss how different types of wildlife have evolved to flourish and live most of their lives at night.
This experience should recharge your connection with nature and expand your appreciation for some of the sights and sounds typically hidden during the day. As this is a night walk, we will observe the wonders of the night sky, including the moon in the Waxing Crescent phase and Saturn.
Join the University of Akron's Dr. Bob on a walk through the vast prairie and serene forest after sunset on Sunday, November 15, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Led by Crown Point staff and guest guides, walks will include:
- Seasonal and nighttime observations of plants and wildlife
- Stargazing
- Fire and s'mores
- Time for quiet reflection, curiosity, and shared conversation
- Opportunities to notice details often missed in everyday life
These walks are not hikes or lectures. They are intentionally paced, accessible, and designed for all levels of experience. Whether you are new to nature-based learning or deeply familiar with the land, each month offers something different to discover.
