In this year-end workshop, we hold the notion that time is not limited to a linear progression of past, present, and future but a cyclical rhythm of the seasons that embody creative change.

As nature undergoes transformations throughout the year, so do we. We dance with the creative shifting of the seasons - we blossom, flourish, decompose, and regenerate. Responding to the rhythms of winter, spring, summer, fall, we'll explore these dances that express each season's unique qualities, alive within all of us.

What if you could flow with your seasonal body with presence, be curious to what is emerging? What physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual resources dance through you and nourish you?

Through nature, ritual and imagination we tap into our creation stories of birth, growth, decay, and renewal. We integrate our discoveries through drawing, writing, and sharing.

By attuning to the seasons, we can unlock a wellspring of creativity, health, and wisdom gifts of transformation.

Joy Cosculluela (she/her) is an immigrant from the Philippines residing in the ancestral lands of the Ohlone people, otherwise known as SF Bay Area. Joy is a choreographer, performing artist, somatic educator, and artistic director of Wayfinding Performance Group, a multicultural ensemble of artists in SF. She has created and directed Homing Devices, All that Remains, Soil, The Space Between, and many more performances. Joy’s work is dedicated to a life-long inquiry of decolonization and explores themes of home, identity, and belonging. Joy was associate teacher and performing artist with Anna Halprin and The Sea Ranch Collective. She has collaborated with numerous Bay Area artists and has worked as guest teacher at SF State, University of Washington, Center for Empowering Refugees and Immigrants, Nature Talks, ISMETA, and Body-Mind Centering Association. Joy holds an MFA Interdisciplinary Arts from Goddard College, is artistic director of Performance Lab SF, and has directed Around the Kitchen Table, and Self-Portraits - Body, Ancestry, Land. Joy is core faculty at Tamalpa Institute in Kentfield,CA.
