ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Lady Queen Paradise is an itinerant body. An archetypal folk project at any altitude, on any guitar, with anyone. Also a rock band, but only in certain cities. Started up in New England and made its way across the continent, through desert and blizzard, on horseback or just in the mind. The details are in the song. Noraa Neither: "Drawing on a solid folk archive, an encyclopedic knowledge of indie rock, and classical training as an opera singer, Lady Queen Paradise taps into something raw, harrowing, but also life-affirming. I have to remind myself to breathe while Clara plays.” https://open.spotify.com/artist/7qWtEr9buCz7nAmj51P12b?si=KpeIjYzfS3CrnaugIXdXBg ([email protected]) https://www.instagram.com/ladyqueenparadise

Flame was a recipient of the CityArtist grant from Seattle's Office of Arts and Cultural Affairs to write, produce and perform her one-person play, Hands Above the Covers, a series of character monologues drawn from diverse real-life interviews. In early 2018, Flame co-curated the art installation Black Imagination at Core Gallery in Seattle. She had her first solo exhibit in 2019 with a project entitled ::intrigue:: 8, a multimedia installation that featured musical compositions inspired by the text of 8 different poets with original video content as well as text from the original poems, through Jack Straw Production's Artist Support and New Media Gallery fellowships. Hugo House's 2017-2019 Writer-in-Residence for Poetry, Flame’s second book of poetry, titled apocrifa, launched May 2023 from Red Hen Press. She’s currently making a film from her newest collection, supported by Black Cinema Collective. In addition to creating change as Program Director of Hedgebrook, she continues to work as a writing instructor in community and for currently and formerly incarcerated women and youth while working on a third poetry collection, making music with her band Last of the RedHot Mamas, making art, and raising her awesome kid. Dog Mom is the Seattle-based music project of Carrie Phillips and everyone who joins them in collaboration. Their first single 'Sleeping Dogs' is now out. 'Sleeping Dogs' captures change, landscapes, queerness, and portraits of those they love - set to folky funky instrumentals and sweeping harmonies. The sounds of Dog Mom are undoubtedly inspired by indie folk radicals spanning Hurray for the Riff Raff, Big Thief, Adrianne Lenker, and Hand Habits. If you're into dogs, community, queer love, and evolving sounds... you've got a friend in Dog Mom. https://open.spotify.com/artist/2T4KKkVU14yKzKMkABe9UK?si=uBnav5KzTCK-vIxtJqehCg ([email protected]) https://www.instagram.com/carries_photos/
