Season In Motion:Between Gathering and Stillness

Join us for the opening of Season In Motion: Between Gathering & Stillness, centering on the energy of Indianapolis during the Summer months when multiple cultural moments, events, and rhythms overlap across the city.

From the collective energy of the Indiana Black Expo Summer Celebration to the immersive worlds of Gen Con, alongside the Indiana State Fair and Brickyard 400, Indianapolis becomes a point of convergence for culture, creativity, movement, and community.

Yet the exhibition is not solely about these large-scale events. It also reflects the quieter moments that exist between the city’s vibrant energy; long summer evenings, moments of stillness, changing atmospheres, personal reflection, and the emotional textures that emerge in pause and transition.

This exhibition brings together artists whose work moves between density and stillness, spectacle and intimacy, exploring both the outward momentum of the city and more internal, contemplative states.
