Seascapes & Underwater Worlds Abstract Art Workshop with Kate Leach
This is a gentle invitation to explore colour, flow, and texture through abstract watercolour — creating work inspired by the sea, shoreline, and everything beneath the surface. From soft washes reminiscent of shifting tides to more detailed interpretations of shells, sea glass, coral, and drifting seaweed, you’ll be encouraged to follow your own creative instincts throughout.
Kate is known for her super encouraging teaching style and her ability to help people feel instantly at ease, whether they are complete beginners or more experienced artists. Her sessions offer a balance of guidance and creative freedom, allowing space for experimentation while gently building confidence along the way.
Working with watercolour, inks, and subtle metallic accents, you’ll explore how organic shapes and layered colour can come together to form expressive, sea-inspired compositions. You can work from your own ideas or draw inspiration from Kate’s collection of abstract and botanical influences.
There’s no pressure to produce anything “perfect” — instead, this is about enjoying the process, discovering new techniques, and seeing where the paint takes you.
By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a finished piece that feels personal and unique — a reflection of your own interpretation of the sea and summer light.
Kate’s work is widely recognised for its expressive watercolour style and delicate metallic detailing, and her thoughtful, supportive approach makes this a particularly enjoyable and accessible creative experience.
