🌊 Seaquest Southwest Public Seawatch – May🐬
When: Sunday 21st June | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Where: Gwennap Head, by the NCI
Join us for an exciting morning of trying to spot wildlife along the stunning Cornish coast! Keep your eyes peeled for dolphins, porpoises, seals, and seabirds, while learning from experienced volunteers and marine enthusiasts. Every sighting helps contribute to valuable citizen science, so you’ll be making a real difference too.
What to Bring:
- Warm, waterproof clothing & sturdy shoes
- Binoculars (we have a few to share)
- Camera (optional!)
- Curiosity and a love of wildlife
Accessibility:
There’s a privately operated car park at Porthgwarra near Gwennap Head, but to reach the headland and the NCI Gwennap Head lookout station it’s about a half‑mile uphill walk along the South West Coast Path from the car park, and the terrain is uneven and includes slopes, so it’s not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs. There are no toilets or café facilities at the headland itself, and the site is open countryside with no formally designated quiet spaces, although you can find peaceful spots to sit and enjoy the views at and around the car park and roadside viewpoint.
Booking: No need to book – just turn up! All ages welcome.
✨ Come for the wildlife, stay for the views – an unforgettable morning by the sea awaits!
