ABOUT ROSÉS-
Although more folks are drinking rosé all year long, these pale pink wines are particularly enjoyable in the warmer Spring and Summer months when the new vintages are hitting the market. The popularity of blush wines has been growing steadily since the 80s, inspired by the dry, mineral laced rosé wines of Provence, France. Now everyone is making them in a wide range of styles using many different grape varietals from all the great wine regions of the world. We are not talking about your mom's white Zinfandel but elegant and delicately flavored dry style rosé wines with as much terroir as any red or white. Their color can range from a pale 'onion-skin' orange to bubblegum pink to a vivid nearly-red hue depending on the grapes used and the winemaking techniques. Rosé wines are incredibly food friendly and perfect for warm weather activities likes picnics, barbeques, or relaxing by the pool.
