Scripted Social Playwriting Weekend Event

Come over to the Eagle Inn on May 8th - 10th for a fun and creative weekend. Whether you're a seasoned writer or just curious, this event is all about sharing ideas, crafting scripts, and enjoying some great company. Ran by professional writer Kieran Scott and director Jessica Moir, the event will culminate in performing a script that we create over the weekend in the event space at The Eagle Inn. Bring your passion for storytelling and let's make some magic together in a relaxed, friendly vibe. Don’t miss out!

* Carving out the potential journey for the script

* An exploration of the elements of form - plot/character/theme (relating to dramatic question)/structure/dialogue/location and visual elements/music and sound, etc...

* Explore with elements of form that would best suit the content/theme and best challenge our dramatic question

* Character building exercises to flesh out characters, figure out what they want and inspire the kinds of conflict that we might see between them

* Focusing and establishing beginning, middle and end of the piece

* Creation of a storyboard

* Group work on individual scenes exploring objectives and consequences

* Writing dialogue, workshopping, scene layering and redrafting

* Consideration of types of conflict characters experience

* Exploring subtext

* Direction of the piece to build the play in a physical sense
