We invite you along to 53two Studio in Manchester for our April play reading group session ran by Jessica Moir who is a creative facilitator and director! Join us on 25th April, 2026 at 10:00 AM to dive into our selected script which for this month is Last Night on Earth by Kieran Scott! Let's gather together, share our thoughts, and enjoy the magic of theatre in a safe, communal setting. No acting experience required, just bring your enthusiasm and love for the stage!

Our morning is spent reading the plays and in the afternoon, we play around with some of the scenes in a relaxed, loose rehearsal setting!

Last Night on Earth

Rumours of a new civilization being built on a planet elsewhere as the earth descends into climate disaster brings about a mass public revolt. David and Lisa have the opportunity to go. David is desperate to leave but Lisa, a former climate activist, is facing a big moral dilemma. Jamie, the couple’s best friend is being left behind, but he knows a dark secret of David’s, which could bring his plan to escape crashing down. Last Night on Earth was longlisted for the Bruntwood Prize for playwriting and it has also made the top 30 longlist of the Divided Culture Co Playwriting Award.
