Join us for a inspirational afternoon of screenprinting in the community garden. Explore the history and cultural relevance of silkscreening (screenprinting) and its creative applications. This is an informative hands-on workshop focused on the process of making vibrant silkscreened prints.
Participants will learn the basics of this versatile technique from image preparation to ink application and will leave with their own printed artworks on paper.
No previous experience is necessary. Pre-registration is required. All materials and supplies are included with ticket purchase.
This workshop is designed for high school-aged teenagers and adults (15+).
This is an outdoor event in a covered area. In the event of extreme weather, the workshop will be rescheduled. Sunscreen and/or a hat are recommended, and participants are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottle.
WHAT TO BRING
All materials and supplies are included. However, students are welcome to bring a white or light-colored cotton t-shirt to print on if desired.

About the Instructors:
Lauren Anzaldo and Scott Satterwhite both have been screenprinting for more than two decades most recently with the 309 Punk Project. Lauren and Scott both are educators and writers with years of experience teaching and creating DIY arts projects.
