To mark NAIDOC Week 2026, RMIT Europe in collaboration with the Australia New Zealand Spain Business Association and with the support of the Australian Embassy in Spain and Casa Asia, is pleased to invite you to a special screening of Sweet As.
Sweet As is the debut feature film from Indigenous writer/ director Jub Clerc, inspired by her own journey of becoming a filmmaker. The film is a celebration of resilience, identity and belonging.

About the film: In the remote Pilbara region of Western Australia, 16-year-old Indigenous girl Murra is going through a difficult time after a violent family incident. On the verge of entering the child protection system, her uncle Ian offers her an unexpected opportunity: to participate in a unique photographic safari with other at-risk youth. Thus begins a road trip that could change everything. Will this be her chance for a fresh start?
About NAIDOC Week: National NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year (Sunday to Sunday), to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The 2026 NAIDOC Week theme is “50 Years of Deadly”, marking 50 years of NAIDOC Week. The theme honours the people, communities, Elders, organisers, artists and leaders who have shaped NAIDOC.
