About this Event

The Asian American Education Project (AAEdu) is hosting a series of FREE K-12 educator events throughout Fall 2026 to deepen knowledge of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) and cross-racial histories and experiences!

At this event, participants will engage in a screening of Southeast Asian American Journeys, an anthology featuring intergenerational stories of local Southeast Asian American refugee communities in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Minnesota, Oregon, and California. These communities, shaped by their resettlement journeys, have transformed the landscape of which they are a fundamental part. Following the screening, participants will have a Q&A with filmmaker Quyên Nguyen-Le, and some planning time.

Attendees must be educators teaching in New York City schools. Educators are eligible to receive CTLE credit.

NYC AAPI Studies K-12 provides free curricular resources and professional development to support integration of Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) history, identity, and civic belonging in NYC Public Schools.
