Kennesaw State University (KSU) is delighted to invite the community to a special screening of the captivating Canadian documentary, Catwalk: Tales from the Cat Show Circuit, on Monday, October 7, 2024. The event will take place at Prillaman Hall, Room 1000, on the Kennesaw Campus, located at 520 Parliament Garden Way NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
The evening's festivities will begin with a free reception from 6:30 pm to 7:45 pm in the Indoor Plaza Room 1001, where attendees can enjoy refreshments and a meet and greet with the filmmakers. At 8:00 pm, the screening of Catwalk will commence, with doors opening at 7:45 pm.
Directed by Michael McNamara, Catwalk offers a whimsical and insightful exploration into the competitive world of Canada’s cat show circuit. The documentary follows the fierce competition between a Turkish Angora and a fluffy red Persian as they vie for the coveted title of Best in Show. Following the screening, Director Michael McNamara will share his experiences in filming, editing, and distributing the documentary, including its journey to Netflix.
Attendees will have the chance to receive exclusive "meow merch" as part of the Year of Canada celebration, showcasing the university’s commitment to fostering cultural exchange and engagement.
This screening is part of KSU’s Year of Canada initiative, a yearlong exploration of Canada’s culture, history, and global influence. The program is supported by the Norman J. Radow College of Humanities & Social Sciences as well as Global Education at KSU, and is hosted by Assistant Professor of Communication Matthew Terrell.
