Beyond History Education – Documentary Screening
As part of the 25th anniversary celebrations of Hands Across the Divide (HAD), we warmly invite you to a screening of Beyond History Education, directed by Mine Balman.
For 25 years, HAD has promoted dialogue, mutual understanding, equality, and cooperation across Cyprus. This screening is part of our anniversary programme reflecting on the challenges and opportunities for peace and reconciliation on the island.
Through the experiences of Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots educated on opposite sides of the divide, the documentary explores how history education, collective memory, and inherited narratives shape perceptions of identity, conflict, and coexistence. A discussion will follow the screening.
