SCREAM OF MY BLOOD: A GOGOL BORDELLO STORY is a high-voltage portrait of immigrant punk band Gogol Bordello as told through the life and music of frontman Eugene Hütz. Born in Ukraine to a family with Romani roots, Hütz fled his homeland as a refugee in the wake of the Chernobyl disaster, eventually landing in New York City—a place where cultures collide and identities are reinvented. There, he built Gogol Bordello: a genre-defying band of fellow immigrants from across the globe, whose electrifying fusion of punk rock and international folk traditions became a rallying cry for outsiders everywhere.
From busking on downtown streets to igniting stages around the world, their rise is a testament to the power of cultural cross-pollination and unapologetic self-expression. Drawing on never-before-seen archives spanning over two decades—including intimate interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and explosive live performances—Scream of My Blood captures not just the evolution of a band, but the forging of a global movement.
