Scraps & Scran: Women's Comp Class (Gi)

Join us on the first Sunday of each month for a Women’s BJJ Competition Class, alternating between Gi and No-Gi sessions. This class is designed specifically for female athletes in and around the Northwest, providing competition-style training in the usual friendly atmosphere.

This class isn’t just an open mat—it’s a fully structured session that guarantees plenty of training time with a range of partners, so no one ends up sitting out. Whether you’re an active competitor or simply want to challenge yourself, we wanted to create a space for you to test yourself and improve.

After training, there'll be some snacks and plenty of time to catch up.

Details:

• Frequency: First Sunday of each month
• Class Style: Structured specific sparring, rotating between Gi and No-Gi each month
• Atmosphere: Friendly and welcoming, but also tough—a class for women who are serious about their BJJ growth and want to lift others up in the process
• Post-Session Social: Time to chat with fellow women in BJJ (much needed in a male-dominated sport), and connect with potential new training partners closer to your home gym.

Who is this class for?
This class welcomes all women age 14+ interested in testing their jiu-jitsu in a supportive yet challenging environment. Whilst we welcome all abilities, this class will be entirely live sparring and won't include any traditional drilling or technique, so please bear this in mind.

Location & Access:

• Central North-West location within an 8-minute drive from Junction 8 of the M61 and 12 minutes from Junction 28 of the M6.
• Just a 10-minute walk from Chorley Train Station.
• Enter through the blue glass door between Ladbrokes and Supercigs convenience store. Please remove your shoes at the bottom of the stairs and head up to the gym.

Parking:

• Free parking is available around the corner at Fleet Street Long-Stay Car Park (no maximum stay or ticket required on Sundays) or directly across the road at Asda Bolton Street (3-hour maximum stay, ANPR monitored).
