Youth Badge Adventure Weekend – Scouts & Girlguiding Special September 19th & 20th
Calling all Cubs, Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Scouts! Join us on September 14th & 15th for an exciting, hands-on weekend designed especially to help you work towards your animal badges while getting up close to our wonderful birds and animals.
Our farm is home to over 200 birds of prey, alongside a wide variety of friendly farm animals, small mammals and fascinating reptiles. We believe the best way for young people to learn is through experience — and this weekend is packed with opportunities to meet, handle and discover amazing species in a safe, engaging environment.
Alongside our daily flying displays and animal encounters, we’ll be running dedicated owl and animal sessions to provide the knowledge and practical experience needed to support badge work — all delivered by our experienced falconers and animal keepers.
Weekend Activity Programme
You can choose which activities to attend across the day:
10:30 – Meet and handle an owl
11:00 – Small Animals: Meet our rabbits and guinea pigs; learn about housing, feeding and care
11:00 – Reptiles & Creepy Crawlies: Discover different species and how we care for them
11:30 – Flying Display: See a variety of birds of prey in flight
12:00 – Farm Animal Encounter: Meet some of our farm breeds
12:15 – Tractor Rides
12:30 – Have a go at flying an owl
1:30 – Meet and handle an owl
2:00 – Small Animals session
2:00 – Reptiles & Creepy Crawlies session
2:30 – Flying Display
3:00 – Farm Animal Encounter
3:15 – Tractor Rides
3:30 – Have a go at flying an owl
In between activities, groups are welcome to explore the bird of prey centre and farm, enjoy the tyre run and playground areas, or visit the gift shop.
Important Information
This event is for registered Scout and Girlguiding groups only
Your registered group name must be added in the notes section of the booking form
Cost: £8.00 per child
Supervision: One adult FREE with every five children
Additional adults: £8.00 per person
Pre-booking is essential
