Scottsdale Charros Announces Annual Parada Del Sol Historic Parade and Trail’s End Festival

Save the date! The Scottsdale Charros the all-volunteer philanthropic group otherwise known as Scottsdale’s Goodwill Ambassadors is pleased to announce the date of the 72nd Annual Scottsdale Parada Del Sol Historic Parade and Trail’s End Festival. This community event which takes place throughout Old Town Scottsdale begins at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday Jan. 31 2026. The family-friendly Trail’s End Festival an extravaganza of Western-themed fun for the whole family immediately follows.

This year’s Parada theme—“A Diamond in the Desert: Celebrating 75 Years of Scottsdale”—pays homage to the city of Scottsdale’s 75th anniversary which occurs in 2026. With that special milestone in mind the Charros and the Parada Del Sol Committee which has helped produce the Parada for nearly as long as it has been in existence is seeking not only entrants for the upcoming event but also residents who have lived in Scottsdale or have been married for just as long as well as businesses that have been operating in Scottsdale for 75 years or more. The 75-year achievement will be honored in many ways throughout the parade and the Trail’s End Festival and those with their own 75-year milestones to celebrate are invited to participate.

“We are looking forward to presenting another one-of-a-kind experience that honors our city’s heritage and community roots and celebrates the incredible longevity and evolution of our beloved city of Scottsdale” said Chrissy Lyman Parada Committee co-chair. “We couldn’t continue this wonderful tradition without the support of the community so we thank you and invite you to come out and celebrate with us especially if you are celebrating a 75-year milestone too!”

The Scottsdale Parada Del Sol Historic Parade follows a route from Drinkwater Blvd. along Scottsdale Rd. and culminates at Brown Ave. and Indian School Rd. Following the parade Scottsdale’s Old Town Historic District transforms into Trail’s End Festival a massive Western-style street party designed for one and all.

This long-running event features approximately 150 entries that range from vibrant floats mounted horse-riders and horse-drawn carriages to school marching bands wagons and stagecoaches representing cultures from Mexican to Native American to Arabian to Western. The number of entrants is limited to maintain the parade’s small-town feel.

The Scottsdale Parada Del Sol Historic Parade is presented through the year-long efforts of a core group of community volunteers including members of the Parada Del Sol Committee as well as the Scottsdale Charros who took on management of the parade in 2021.

Guests are encouraged to begin lining up along the parade route early with festivities kicking off at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday Jan. 31 2026 and finishing up around noon. Immediately following the parade the Trail’s End Festival takes over historic Old Town featuring themed fun and games for the whole family including a kids’ zone food trucks and beverage vendors merchandise and arts and crafts booths and live entertainment—from concerts to traditional cultural performances—on multiple stages.

Scottsdale residents who have lived in the city for 75 years companies that have been in business 75 years and/or those celebrating their own significant 75th anniversary milestones (such as marriages) are encouraged to email [email protected] to be included in the festivities surrounding the 2026 Scottsdale Parada Del Sol Historic Parade and Trail’s End Festival.
