Catherine Gemmell
Is the Policy and Advocacy Manager at Marine Conservation Society & Director at Moray Ocean Community. She is going to give an overview of citizen science and marine litter, what governments have been doing with the data to implement new policy and what is coming up.
Naomi Watson
Visit her Facebook page you will quickly see that Naomi Watson is a talented underwater photographer. Diving with a rebreather she has been using a tripod to allow spectacular long exposure photos of wrecks. So, no surprise that she will be giving a well-illustrated talk, focused on shipwrecks off the Aberdeen coast and some detail on wrecks she and her group identified and how they did it.
Peter Collings
On the subject of shipwrecks and guide books, Peter is a legend and if you have dived the Red Sea there is a good chance you will come across one of his many books.! He has been publishing since 1985 and is the founder of Deeplens.com, The Red Sea Wreck Academy.
Gareth Lock MSc
Gareth is the author of the well-regarded book ‘Under Pressure’- Diving deeper with human factors. He does talks all over the world aiming to improve the skills and safety of all divers.
Alan Purcell
Alan is an experienced cave diver. He will be doing talks on technical diving and his involvement as a support diver during further exploration the Pozo Azul cave system in Spain, possibly the longest cave in the world. It is one thing meeting your hero’s, but Alan is taking it one step further by supporting his hero like one of this year’s expedition leaders Rick Santon!
Ross McLaren
Ross’s photos and articles feature regularly in the Scottish Diver and he is going to share some of his knowledge with a talk on photographic techniques.
Owen Paisey
Anyone wanting to expand their experience on sea life or just find yet another diving related interest should attend Owen’s presentation. Seasearch are about to launch their own dedicated ScotSAC branch aiming to do their bit to help protect and restore our ocean.
