With a game-changing UK General election in the offing, and Scottish businesses scouring for the best funding, our 2024 Scottish Deals & Dealmakers breakfast, brought to you by The Business in association with The Sunday Times Scotland, is the ideal event to take the temperature of the deals market.
Journalist and business author Kenny Kemp will introduce an influential panel of business figures for breakfast at the Sheraton on Thursday May 30, 2024.
Over the course of the morning, we will review the major transactions, discuss and assess the state of the markets and the impact of imminent changes in the political landscape.
The panel will include:
Bob Brannan, chairman of leading Scottish family-owned company Walker’s Shortbread, based in Aberlour. Bob has been involved in a series of high-profile UK deals, none more significant than the $1 billion sale of Whyte & Mackay whisky.
Andrew Noble, former Olympic skier and now a major deal-maker working with Par Equity, one of Scotland’s leading venture capital companies.
James Varga, a serial fintech entrepreneur, founder of DirectID, and now with First Carbon Investments, has been involved with several major deals and is an adviser to the Scottish Ministerial Trade Board.
More panellists to be confirmed.
This event is aimed at those involved in the inter-linked dealmaking ecosystems here in Scotland. From start-up finance, through to finding international partners to fund new developments in Scotland, there will be the opportunity to quiz the experts.
The event will also be covered in the June edition of The Business, a quarterly magazine of over 50,000 copies which goes out with the Sunday Times.
Save this date and network with more than 125 of Scotland’s influential dealmakers, advisors, funders, bankers, lawyers, venture capitalists and facilitators.
