Forest bathing - the power of trees and nature to help us heal
@ForestHealingScotland - Hugh Asher
I trained as a Forest Therapy Practitioner shortly after the Covid Lockdown, having found nature mindfulness to have benefited my mental, physical and emotional health and wellbeing during this time. I now work as the 'Recovery Through Nature' lead in a residential rehab for people experiencing problems with drugs and alcohol. My vision is to inspire people to improve the health and wellbeing of themselves, of others and of the planet, using nature and nature connection activities to achieve this.
I will deliver a two hour session in nearby woodland, where I will invite you to take part in a series of Forest Bathing invitations. A Forest Bathing invitation is an activity to encourage you to connect with the natural world around you through your different senses. These are activities that are designed to heighten your sensory awareness and increase your nature connection. Forest Bathing is about immersing yourself in the forest atmosphere rather than wild swimming in a lochan in the woods!
Sound bath - Billie Jo Watt
Billie runs The Soulistic Sanctuary- a business focusing on holistic therapies, wellness and healing the mind body and the soul. She runs group soundbaths across Aberdeen and supports people 1-1 using sound and energy healing. The Soulistic Sanctuary also hosts womens wellness events, knowing how important connection and community is.
Enjoy a sound meditation inner journey (soundbath) facilitated by Billie from The Soulistic Sanctuary. Using crystal singing bowls, gong, koshi chimes and more amazing instruments, you can deeply relax into the present moment and switch off, recieving everything your mind body and soul needs. Sound healing is incredible for physical pain, sleep issues, mental health and rebalances the energy centres. You'll need to bring a yoga mat, cushion for your head and a blanket if you'd like to be nice and cosy! Come with an open mind and give yourself permission to rest and recieve!

Natalie Gilray - Laughter yoga
Natalie Gilray is the leading Laughter Yoga professional in the Highlands, based in Inverness. She supports people who feel overwhelmed, burnt out or emotionally weighed down to reconnect with joy, breath and their bodies through laughter. Her work is playful, grounded and trauma-informed, using laughter as a powerful tool for nervous system regulation, release and connection. Natalie also works as a wellbeing coach and professional declutterer, helping people create more space and lightness in their lives. Laughter sits at the heart of everything she offers. At its core, Natalie’s work is about helping people feel better in their bodies and their lives.
This one-hour Laughter Yoga Wellness session is a joyful, uplifting and energising experience that invites you to reconnect with your natural capacity for laughter. Many people underestimate the healing power of laughter, yet it is one of the most effective ways to release stress, shift mood and support nervous system regulation. Through simple breathing practices, guided laughter exercises and gentle movement, you’ll be invited to laugh without jokes in a playful, supportive and inclusive space. No sense of humour, fitness level or previous experience is needed — just a willingness to give it a try. The session focuses on connection rather than performance, allowing laughter to arise naturally and ripple through the group. You’ll leave feeling lighter, more energised and connected.

Rebecca Gilyeat - Rebekambodivine
I am a yoga teacher whose work explores yoga beyond the mat as a practice of union & deep connection. My teachings weave together somatic movement, kundalini practices, mantra & Bhakti yoga, alongside women's circles & wellness retreats, offering embodied spaces for healing & self discovery.
I offer a somatic yoga practice and a deeply nourishing yin class. Both begin with gentle pranayama to ground participants & bring awareness into the body. The somatic session invites intuitive movement, & embodied presence, supporting participants to reconnect with their felt sense. Alternatively, the yin practice ideal for later in the day offers a slow, meditative journey into the body, encouraging deep relaxation while gently supporting the connective (yin) tissues.
