Scotland County Highland Games

The Scotland County Highland Games return to the North Carolina Rural Heritage Center in Laurinburg on October 3. Come see athletes performing incredible feats such as the tossing of the caber. See 20 pipe bands from throughout the Southeast compete for the Southern Branch EUSPBA Pipe Band Championship and perform in TWO massed bands ceremonies. See dancers from throughout the USA compete for prizes in traditional dances such as the Highland Fling. Find your Scottish links through informational booths and Scottish clan societies who will be present. Kids games and activities where they can perform kid-friendly versions of the events the "big folks" are doing on the main field. Scottish vendors of everything from kilts to jewelry and Scottish and American foods for all tastes....and our great beer tent with traditional and modern Scottish and Celtic musical entertainment. And special activities this year highlighting and honoring our 250th year of our United States and the contributions made by Scots to our nation.
