Why the Scorpio New Moon
The evening falls on the eve of the New Moon at 16 degrees Scorpio, which arrives in the early morning hours of November 9 here in Metro Detroit. Scorpio is the sign of depth and truth, and many people use a dark moon to let go of what they are finished with and set intentions for the month ahead.
What happens during the sound bath
The first hour descends into low, sustained tone, and the second hour returns the room with brighter pitch. Michael plays the room live using:
- 🎶 Crystal singing bowls with pure, resonant tones
- 🎵 Native flutes with soulful, earthy melodies
- 🥁 A steel tongue drum with soft, melodic rhythm
- 🌈 Quantum Balance Vortex Crystals that swirl color and light through the space
- 💫 Pleiadian Cosmic Healing Discs
- 🌙 Moon Reiki, gentle Reiki energy work offered in the quiet stretch between the descent and the return
- ✨ Prismatic aura cleansing sprays (if you would rather not be sprayed near, say so on arrival)
Optional add-on
The Intuition Aura Spray (4 oz.), created to help enhance your intuitive instincts and made as a companion for Scorpio season, is available as an optional add-on when you book.
Who it is for
All are welcome, whether this is your first sound bath or your hundredth. No experience is needed, and there is nothing to prepare or get wrong.
What to bring
Wear comfortable, cozy clothing and bring a layer, since a room feels colder when you are still. A journal is a lovely addition for capturing your intentions. Bring a mat, blanket or cushion if you want one under you, and water.
Getting there
Crimson Commuter is conveniently located in Madison Heights in Oakland County, just minutes from Royal Oak, Troy, Hazel Park, Ferndale, Warren, Clawson and the greater Metro Detroit area.
Who leads it
Rev. Michael Allison is a Reiki Master Teacher and Certified Flower Essence Practitioner, and he founded Prismatic Flower Essences in Madison Heights.
Frequently asked questions
What is a sound bath?
You lie down or sit while instruments are played live in the room, and you simply listen. The word bath refers to being surrounded by sound.
What if I cannot lie down on the floor?
A few chairs are set out for anyone who would rather not lie flat. Use the Contact the organizer link on this page to ask for one before the evening.
Is it loud?
No. The instruments are acoustic and the volume stays in a conversational range. If you are sensitive to sound, take a place toward the back of the room.
Can I arrive late?
Please arrive before 6:30 PM so you are settled when the descent begins. Walking in partway through is disruptive in a room this quiet.
Do I need any experience?
None at all.
A sound bath is offered as a rest practice and a tradition. It does not replace medical care, and no outcome is promised. If you are pregnant or have a medical condition, check with your own clinician first.
Reserve your spot today and let this Scorpio New Moon guide your descent and your return. 🌑
