Science Unwrapped, the public STEM outreach program of the USU College of Arts & Sciences, invites inquiring minds of all ages to participate in fun science learning experiences. Admission is free. Each event begins with a brief science talk followed by hands-on learning activities and refreshments.
Our Fall 2025 theme is "Celebrate Undergrad Research" in recognition of USU's 2025 "Year of Undergraduate Research."
Friday, October 3, 2025: Preparing paperwork for customs and shipping of imports and exports can be a cumbersome process. USU undergraduate computer scientist Tanner Helms and a classmate, Bryce Judy, an information technology scholar, came up with the idea of developing an AI-powered platform to streamline the process and help companies comply with ever-changing regulations. They were awarded the $20,000 Tim Draper Grand Prize during the 2025 Utah Entrepreneur Challenge to bolster their start-up company, Tarifflo. At Science Unwrapped, Helms and his faculty mentor, Chad Mano, will discuss the creative and technological challenges of harnessing AI to address a real-world problem.
Parking is available in the university parking terraces at 700 East 600 North, and 850 East 700 North in Logan. Parking is FREE for Science Unwrapped guests.
