Science on Tap: Fighting cancer twice: How tumor ablation helps the immune
About this Event
What if a cancer treatment could destroy tumors AND help your immune system fight back? Seven women researchers dedicated to improving the lives of patients through cancer research will tell us about the fascinating intersection of cancer treatments and immunology being explored in Irving Coy Allen's lab at Virginia Tech. Join us for an evening of engaging mini talks and interactive puzzles as we explore innovative technologies that destroy tumors while helping the body recognize and attack cancer on its own. No science background is needed — just bring your curiosity!
Science on Tap is free and open to the public and is hosted by the Center for Communicating Science at Virginia Tech and Virginia Tech's chapter of Sigma Xi.
If you are an individual with a disability and desire an accommodation, please contact Erin Smith at [email protected] during regular business hours at least ten days before the event. Rising Silo is a wheelchair-accessible venue.
