FOR ALL MANKIND
Dir. Al Reinert (1989)
Film Streams is pleased to again join dozens of its national arthouse colleagues in Science on Screen®, an innovative series pairing classic, cult, and documentary films with lively discussions led by notable figures from the world of science, technology, and medicine.
Science on Screen is presented with Metropolitan Community College. Join us for a post-screening discussion where we'll be talking all things outer space!
Film Information
Al Reinert’s documentary is the story of the twenty-four men who traveled to the moon, told in their words, in their voices, using the images of their experiences. With its awe-inspiring, otherworldly footage and a haunting atmospheric soundtrack by Brian Eno, the film stirs us with a profound sense of compassion for the “pale blue dot” that is our home, and it remains the most radical, visually dazzling work of cinema that has been made about this earthshaking event.
