☕ July's topic is MOSQUITO CONTROL MATTERS! Fight the Bite: Current Issues and challenges related to mosquito control. Wondering what goes on at the Sacramento-Yolo Mosquito and Vector Control District? Join Public Information Officer Luz Maria Robles to learn about mosquito biology, mosquito control and prevention, and West Nile Virus prevention.
🎙 About our speaker: Luz Maria Robles is the Public Information Officer for the Sacramento-Yolo Mosquito and Vector Control District. Luz Maria is the main point of contact for general media and serves as a spokesperson for the District. As a PIO her main duties include developing successful advertising and public education campaigns, coordinating and participating in media interviews, creating educational materials and engaging in community outreach that involve events, presentations and working with schools. Prior to her work at the District, Luz Maria worked as a Marketing Specialist for the California Department of Public Health developing osteoporosis prevention campaigns for Latino women in California. Luz Maria has a background in television and radio news and holds a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Spanish from the University of California Davis.
