This round's topic: Ozempic for all!
The next generation of Ozempic drugs will soon be available, promising a further 20-30% weight loss, and new statins that will simultaneously build your muscle while you lose weight. In parts of the world Ozempic and other GLP-1 drugs can be ordered by Uber, suggesting that medical intervention has finally achieved the convenience level of a pad thai. Meanwhile, several former advocates of the body positivity movement appear to have quietly misplaced a significant portion of themselves, and prisoner of war chic is back in.
Should we all be able to medicate our way to our ideal form? Treating these corporeal forms as fashion accessories to be updated seasonally? Spring/Summer abs, Autumn/Winter cheekbones? Should anabolic steroids be offered as part of any gym membership, bundled along with the waiver and the free towel? Should preventative botox be offered as a drive through procedure?
Should we just go ahead and cut the last of the red tape and finally become the curated, chemically-assisted masterpieces we were always meant to be?
Or has the line between medicine and the enhancement industry become so blurry it could pass for its own retro instagram filter?
