A Young Musicians Series Concert
About this Event

The Trout boasts a revered place in the chamber music pantheon. Yet, unike other works there, such as Beethoven's late quartets or even his own cello quintet to name a few, it was written during a period of carefree youth, and as a result overflows with melodic invention, original textures and harmonic colour. In this concert it is paired with the lesser known Vaughn Williams quintet, also a relatively early work, though for the much slower developing - not to mention longer living - composer.

  • Vaughn Williams Quintet for Piano and Strings in C minor
  • Schubert Quintet for Piano and Strings “Trout” in A major D667

The Young Musicians Series
The Cambridge Camerata Academy is committed to giving the future musicians of tomorrow public performance opportunities today. By pairing these outstanding talents with an established professional they get to share their love for chamber music with Cambridge audiences while at the same time getting a taste of professional life. There is a deeply entrenched Cambridge tradition of it's top musicians going on to pursue professional careers. This is the perfect opportunity to come and enjoy them now.

Marie-Noëlle Kendall piano
Marie-Noëlle Kendall is a pillar of the Cambridge musical community. Not only is she one of that rare group of local musicians who regularly perform around town, she has also made her mark on the city by touching countless aspiring musicians from all walks of life. She has a deep passion for chamber music and takes great pleasure in collaborating with fellow musicians.

A finalist in the BBC Young Musician of the Year, Marie-Noëlle has since enjoyed a successful international solo career, performing in the UK, Australia, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, Estonia, Russia and Hungary with such ensembles as the Philharmonia, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the Australian String Quartet, London Soloists Chamber Orchestra and Manchester Camerata. Her concerts have been broadcast in the UK, the United States, Canada, Australia and Colombia.

Marie-Noëlle was a Cambridge undergraduate before going off to further her studies in Hungary. She later returned to settle here and has delighted local concert goers ever since. She is a founding member of the Cambridge Chamber Academy where she coaches chamber music and gives masterclasses.
