School Holidays: Mega Maths Mania (ages 13–18)

Join UNSW maths expert Dr Randell Heyman and discover the creative and surprising side of mathematics using ideas and concepts you already know.
In this hands on workshop, participants will explore fascinating concepts including impossible shapes, infinity and patterns in nature. The session will also examine the maths behind everyday technology, from GPS and Google search to streaming services and why soap bubbles are round.
No advanced formulas are needed, just curiosity and a willingness to think creatively.
About the facilitator
Dr Randell Heyman has tutored and lectured at UNSW since 2007. His YouTube channel has more than 3.5 million views, and he has delivered more than 100 free talks to schools, students and community groups.
