About this Event
At this workshop, participants will be given a tasty introduction to Japanese culture and discover a love for the arts and crafts of Japan.
Participants will begin with Japanese calligraphy. This time, they will focus on a single Kanji, the character for βsummerβ (ε€), and create a beautiful artwork on a white Japanese fan (sensu). Each participant will be able to take home their own unique summer-themed fan.We will then move on to making traditional Japanese confectionery called nerikiri. For this workshop, the nerikiri will be shaped like another type of Japanese fan, uchiwa.
Between each of these sessions there will be a break for drinks/snacks(BYO), Japanese craft games.
