School for Advanced Studies Shadow Days

Join us for a Shadow Day at the — the newest tuition-free public charter school serving grades 5–12 in northwest Arkansas!

Shadow Days are an immersive experience where your student will “shadow” a current School for Advanced Studies student during the school day. Your student will explore a school dedicated to academic excellence, leadership, and real-world learning. It’s the ultimate chance to experience our advanced curriculum, class schedule, and vibrant student life firsthand!

Students participating in this all-day event will have the chance to:

• Explore our historic campus within the former Lane Hotel.
• Make friends and meet the Hellbenders.
• Meet friendly teachers and see our school day in action.
• Observe engaging teachers and unique lesson plans.
• Experience our exciting academic and extracurricular programs.

What to know before you attend:

• Shadow students should arrive at the school lobby between 7:45–8:00 AM. A parent must be present at drop-off.
• Shadow students are typically paired with someone in their current grade (unless they request to shadow a specific student they already know).
• SAS high school students are allowed to go off campus during lunch period. Parents will be asked at drop-off whether their child has permission to go off campus; if not, please send them with a packed lunch.
• Shadow students are welcome to spend the full school day at SAS. Half-day visits are also an option. Pickup times are arranged with parents at drop-off.
