We’ll start in Oviedo, heading northeast through the rural corridors of Geneva. The route takes us west on SR 46 over the George C. Means Memorial Bridge—offering expansive views of the St. Johns River—and skirts the northern shore of Lake Monroe before arriving in historic DeLand.
⛰️ The Highlights
From DeLand, we’ll move into the rolling hills of the Lake Wales Ridge toward Mount Dora. The standout segment of the trip is the Green Mountain Scenic Byway, where the road winds around Lake Apopka and climbs Sugarloaf Mountain. At a 10% grade, it’s a rare Florida ascent that rewards you with a panoramic view of the entire basin and the distant Orlando skyline.

Our trip concludes at Southern Hill Farms in Clermont. Depending on the day, we can grab some fresh blueberry donuts, visit the market, or enjoy the hilltop views of the sprawling agricultural fields.
