Scene to Song: A Community Musical Improv Jam

The Thursday Club gives you a chance to sample all kinds of improv styles for free. This week, Baltimore Musical Improv will lead a Scene to Song musical improv jam.
Ready to step onto the stage with musical improv in a fun, low-stakes way in front of a live audience?
Backed by a live piano, you can bring the magic of improvised songs to life on the spot. If you want to perform, you will get real stage time.
And if you or your friends want to watch, all are incredibly welcome to join the audience! We can't wait to see you on stage or in the seats!
Join the Cast: Sign up when you enter if you want to be on stage. Under the guidance of our hosts, you will get to play low-pressure musical games. This is open to all skill levels with no musical theater experience required.
Join the Audience: Want to support the players or just enjoy a night of improv? Relax, laugh, and enjoy the show! You can shout out ideas that kick off our scenes and cheer on the performers from your seat.
Here’s the lineup:
Opening Games: Group singing games get you comfortable on stage and the audience cheering.
Scene to Song: Explore the magic of characters breaking out into improvised, Broadway-style numbers. It is much easier than you think when you have a whole room supporting you!
The Improvised Musical: For our grand finale, our Intro to Musical Improv graduates will take the stage to perform a fully improvised musical. Come watch our heroes, villains, and charm characters bring a brand-new story to life!

About the Venue:
The Highwire Center is Highwire Improv's home base in the Highlandtown neighborhood of Baltimore! Part of Highlandtown Main Street and the Highlandtown Arts District, The Highwire Center is home to classes, free workshops, shows, community events, corporate training, and more! The Highwire Center is accessible, with ramp access available, an ADA restroom, and flat transit throughout the space.
