Did you hear that the Kiwanis Club of Grosse Ile is hosting a historical Scavenger hunt in association with the Grosse Ile Historical Society?
What is it?
The hunt will consist of following a list of historical questions to find the answers at our in local Grosse Ile businesses. The answers to the questions will be posted on yard signs along Macomb or inside our local businesses.
When is it?
On July 17th from 12 pm until 8 pm. You can start any time from 12 pm to 7 pm.
Where is it?
The event will take place along Macomb in conjunction with the DDA's "Red, White and You" Island Night event. The starting point/check-in will be at the VFW Hall. Completed questionnaires must be turned in at the VFW before 8pm.
How long will it take?
The hunt is simple and child friendly. It consists of a leisurely stroll up and down Macomb. It shouldn't take much more than an hour to complete.
What's in it for me?
Besides the fact that you will learn about some of the awesome history of our wonderful island, each participant (team/family?) turning in a completed questionnaire will receive a ticket for one of our awesome prize baskets. Prizes will be drawn after 8pm and winners do not need to be present to win.
Why is it being held over 8 hours?
We wanted families with small children to be able to participate in this event and we realize that the hours of the Island Nights event (6-9) might not be good for them. Also, this would allow business with. earlier closing times to participate.
Are you going?
Of course you are!! We can't wait to see you there!!
