Lalitha and Nandini Muthuswamy (violin)
Born in a musical family, Aravind Bhargav trained in South Indian (Carnatic) music with the mandolin maestro U. Srinivas from a very young age. Having given his first concert at age 17, he is known for his energetic style and sensitivity with which he interprets melodic content. Today, having presented numerous concerts across India and in many other countries, and having won several accolades, Bhargav is known as one of the very few practitioners of the mandolin in his generation. Additionally, he is a trained audio engineer.
Lalitha and Nandini Muthuswamy are the fourth generation in a family of musicians. Starting out at the tender age of three, they are an accomplished violinist duo today with a style known for its sweet tone, dexterous techniques and renditions in different grades of tempo. Besides South Indian classical music, they are also well-versed in Western classical, fusion and world music. Several prestigious organisations across the globe have recognised and honoured the sisters for their contribution to music.
