Melburnians get ready to escape to the French Alps right in the heart of the city! For six weeks only from Thursday 15 May to Sunday 22 June 2025 Fed Square will be transformed into an authentic French alpine village hosting a one-of-a-kind melted cheese dining experience. Step into the warmth of your private mountain chalet and indulge in a traditional French cheese fondue—just like in the Alps.

From snowfall to a team of French waiters and the inviting aroma of mulled wine this immersive pop-up dining experience is brought to life by BBR Group Australia-the creators of Melbourne’s wildly popular Raclette Igloo Experience which wowed crowds for five weeks in 2023.

Fondue Chalet offers a one-of-a-kind journey into the magic of a French alpine village. With eighteen private wooden chalets and two tonnes of cheese imported from France you and your group of six to eight can indulge in a traditional fondue from the French Alps in your own cosy chalet—each with its own fire pit.

From the moment you arrive you’ll be welcomed with mulled wine and transported to a charming French mountain village where everything -including the staff is authentically French!

Your fondue guide will lead you to your private chalet and serve a bubbling pot of traditional cheese fondue from Savoie (region in the French Alps). Expect nothing but the best; the cheese is imported from France and the recipe has been crafted in collaboration with French cheesemongers to ensure a true taste of the Alps.

Tear into crunchy bread and dive into our rich pot of goodness savour cured meats and indulge in a selection of à la carte French wines curated to complete your foodie adventure. As you gather around your own fire pit roast marshmallows and create memories. No passport required.

Our traditional French alpine fondue is a rich blend of Comté Beaufort Emmental and Vacherin melted to perfection with a splash of white wine a hint of kirsch and a dash of spices. Served alongside generous charcuterie boards it’s designed to be shared and savoured; so dip away! But be sure to save room for what comes next…

Our chocolate fondue is thick silky and made with the best Belgian chocolate perfect for dipping our seasonal fruits and sweet treats.

We call it the dream combo and it’s limited to specific sessions.

Don’t want your Fondue Chalet experience to end? Well neither do the French!

Head over to the Ski Bar (exclusively for fondue ticket holders) where a curated selection of French winter cocktails fine French wines and hot drinks are on the menu. Grab a cosy table or a fire pit sip and savour the moment.

For the full French experience order a “digestif” a traditional after-dinner liquor shot designed to help you feel lighter after a hearty meal.
