The cult comedy: John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd are on a mission from the Lord and meet stars like James Brown, Aretha Franklin and Ray Charles.
Just released from prison, the crook Jake Blues (John Belushi) finally vows to get better and already has an idea for it. Together with his brother Elwood Blues (Dan Aykroyd), he wants to get their old band back together in order to get the $5,000 that is missing from the orphanage where they themselves used to grow up. But as the brothers go all out to make their plan a reality, it's soon not just the police who are after them.

Gerade erst aus dem Gefängnis entlassen, gelobt der Ganove Jake Blues (John Belushi) endlich Besserung und hat dafür auch schon eine Idee. Gemeinsam mit seinem Bruder Elwood Blues (Dan Aykroyd) will er ihre alte Band wieder zusammenbringen, um an die 5000 Dollar zu kommen, die dem Waisenhaus fehlen, in dem sie selber früher aufgewachsen sind. Doch während die Brüder alles daransetzen, ihren Plan zu verwirklichen, ist schon bald nicht nur die Polizei hinter ihnen her.
