In celebration of the founding of the State Historical Society of Iowa in Iowa City in 1857, this program will offer insights into the collections and stories of value to all Iowans.Free and open to the public
The event will feature entertainment from musician Dave Moore, the Swampland Jewels, and, among others, the Labor Notes - a band formed by members of COGS (UI Graduate Student Union). We aim to increase awareness about the value of keeping the State Historical Society of Iowa's collections in Iowa City. Mainly, we hope to generate some positive energy by hosting a fun, family-friendly evening with a few door prizes thrown in. Co-hosted by Iowa Labor History Society and The Swampland Jewels
