Solo, Two Person, Three Person and Four Person Teams
Description:
Teams of 1-4 will travel across land, water and marsh in Charlotte County, FL covering approximately 7-12 miles in four hours. Racers will use pre-plotted Caltopo maps to navigate to check points while paddling and running/trekking through the course. Check points will be placed in various locations using natural features as indicators of placement such as trail intersections, knolls, depressions, streams, bays, coves etc. We will have very experienced adventure racers on site for any questions about the race, the race is intended to be a fun event for experienced racers and also provide an introduction to what adventure racing is all about for new racers. This race is also a great opportunity for the adventurous parents to get their children involved. We expect to have children as young as 5 years old out for this race. The way Adventure Races are designed, you can do the full course or as few miles as you want depending on your abilities. There is not set course and this race uses Check Points as the measurement rather than a predetermined course.
Boats:
Boats will be included in your registration cost, you are permitted to bring you own boat to this race if you would like. All PFDs (life jackets) and paddles are also included in your registration fee but you may bring your own. You are responsible for pre-staging your personal boat and paddle gear if you bring it.
