Norton Singers will be holding auditions for The Hunchback of Notre Dame on Sunday, February 22 from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. and Monday, February 23 and from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m., with call backs on Wednesday.
Five-minute audition slot sign-ups will be made available in the near future.
Please note this is strictly a non-union production. No AEA contracts will be offered.
Auditionees should prepare 32 bars of a song. Please bring a headshot and resume of list of previous experience to the audition. Accompaniment will be provided.
Auditionees will be notified of all casting decisions by email. The first rehearsal will be held on Sunday, April 12 in the Social Room in the St. Mary’s Parish Hall. Rehearsals typically will be held on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings starting at 7:00. The show is scheduled to be performed June 12, 13 and 14, 2026 at Wheaton College, Norton MA. Anyone who signs up to audition should be prepared to give all conflicts to the production team at the time of the auditions.

ABOUT THE SHOW: Based on the novel and songs from the Disney animated feature, The Hunchback of Notre Dame showcases the film’s Academy Award-nominated score, as well as new songs by Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz. A sweeping score and powerful story make The Hunchback of Notre Dame a truly unforgettable musical.
The production will be directed by Doug Hodge with music direction by Ben Oehlkers. Doug and Ben are both new to Norton Singers but certainly not to the Boston area theater scene. Doug most recently directed the Walpole Footlighters production of She Loves Me, which received several EMACT DASH awards in 2023, including Best Director. Ben last collaborated with Doug on the 2020 production of Titanic at The Concord Players; most recently, he served as music director for Cabaret at Volkes and Songs for a New World at Concord Players.
