Save Our SSSI - Bracken Bashing!

Join the Countryside Ranger Service for this hands-on conservation event at Scotstown Moor, a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). This important habitat is home to a diverse array of wildlife and your help is needed to potect and enhance its unique wetland ecosystem.Our activities will focus on:

• Bracken control: bash the encroaching fern to stunt its growth and promote the spread of native ground flora within the SSSI.
• Wetland Expansion: Assist in vital efforts to restore and extend the wetland area, promoting biodiversity and supporting the natural water cycle

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about wetland ecosystems, meet like-minded people and make a tangible impact on preserving Scotstown Moor's natural beauty.

Additional Information:

All tools and equipment will be provided, along with guidance from the team. No prior experience is necessary - just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to make a difference!

• Suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear
• Thick gardening gloves (if you have them, if not gloves will be provided)
• A packed lunch and water bottle
